Location
Several torn bath towels, an ice machine in 100 degree weather with a sign Out of Order, sorry. Drippy water basin with hot water, but cold water in the shower. A clerk who makes assumptions about 2 women traveling together!!! Messy areas around the walkway. One bar of soap. One hand towel for 2 persons. A clerk who with a straight face calls this hotel, "Five Star." Once upon a time some intelligence put in tiled floors and a pleasing facade and entrance, but now it is shabby. The furnishings are worn, the chair upholstery stained.

The surrounding environment (located in Ojai Cal) was great.
The single bed room was unusually small. Felt boxed in and uncomfortable.

My stay was wonderful. The staff treated everyone like VIPs, and the attention to detail was impressive. Relaxing by the pool after a busy day was a highlight.

There was sperm in my shampoo and the hotel owner and manager refused to refund my money. The lady at the front desk handed me cleaning supplies to clean my room, since there wasn't a maid that night. Disgusting hotel, rude staff, extremely rude owner/manager, plus you can hear people walking around all night if you are on the bottom level of the hotel. The place is old and rickety and gross. Definitely do not recommend for anyone to stay here. Worst hotel experience ever. The place should be shut down! The Blue Iguana Inn and Emerald Iguana Inn are the most amazing places to stay, however they were sold out the night we were in Ojai....obviously

We were able to get an early check-in which was really nice. The room had an antique romantic feel to it. The jacuzzi tubs were nice although we didn't have time to take advantage of it. The mattress was very comfortable
Dogs are allowed to stay in the rooms. Some guests below us had 2 dogs that charged at us but thankfully the gate stopped them from attaching us. Our room needed some minor repairs (tile in shower, toilet ran, bedspread torn in multiple places).

Location.
The room was old with fading paint on the ceilings with some stains on the couch and a small cracked window. The furnishings were thrown together and didn't match. This is a decent place to crash but not worth the money in my opinion.

We enjoyed the hot tub and the outdoor pool after exploring the local arcade and Libbey Bowl. Perfect base to enjoy everything around. Just a heads up, the breakfast could use some improvement, so plan accordingly.
One downside was our check-in experience. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and it took longer than expected.

The bed was really comfortable. Our room was bumped up to a suite, which a nice surprise. Our room was in the back off the highway, so it was nice and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was pretty tacky. The comforter on the bed was torn. The tiles in the shower were coming loose. The carpet didn't look all that well vacuumed. There were mirrors everywhere, including over the bed which made it feel like a Love Hotel. The shampoo bottle was half used and there was only one tiny bar of soap for the sink, shower and roman tub.

The shampoo bottle in the room was not sealed, was sticky, and had white substance in it that everyone in our group determined to be semen. seriously. The hotel clerk gave us cleaning supplies to clean the room ourselves. There was no maid on duty and we were told they only have 1 maid. After 5 days, when we finally reached the owner, he told us, without ever seeing the bottle, that the shampoo was cold and that is why it was white. Although the other people in our group didn't have that problem with their shampoo bottle. Our group of 6 had booked 2 rooms and we are all 100% positive it was semen. The most disgusting experience we've ever had with a hotel. The owner was very rude and after googling him online I've learned he has been fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for problems with his many properties.

great staff but minor room updates needed
The staff provided really good service as a guest. The cleanliness of the room was excellent, complemented by a large TV for entertainment.

I didn't like anyhting about it.
It was dirty, noisy, and looked like a cheap motel on the road.
